Chinese American artist, born in Malaysia, 1960

The Cultural Revolution displaced many Chinese families, including my grandparents and mother, scattering them across Asia. Growing up listening to their stories—of political exile, war, restricted travel ban and complexities shaped both their lives, a deep emotional connections.that for me to serves as a metaphor for life, led me to explore cultural roots through the visual language of photography. 1988- 2009 resulting in two “ portrait” photography books of East and West performance art,

Raised by a single mother, I found my way to New York City as a fashion model, where I was inspired by the vibrant energy of the late 80’s—a haven for artists. It was there that my journey as a photographer began with darkroom classes in platinum-palladium to silkscreen. A self taught in America, my camera confront work and life’s wide-ranging stories of the medium narratives through the lens across time

I continue to work across various photographic genres—portraits, landscapes, street and studio-based portraits that explore women’s culture, identity and floral abstract still-life.series. My practice includes surrealist mixed photo-montage and sculpture.
